The founder of the company "Volgadorstroy," which participated in the construction of sections of the federal highways M-12 and M-7, Ayrat Minnullin has been detained in Tatarstan. There is no official information yet regarding the exact reason for his detention.

In Kazan, the head of the construction company "Volgadorstroy," which was involved in the construction of a key section of the federal highway M-12 "Vostok," has been detained. As confirmed by TASS in law enforcement agencies, Ayrat Minnullin was detained against the backdrop of the bankruptcy of his companies and multi-billion debts. "He has been detained," said a source from the agency. According to open sources, Minnullin headed two organizations with identical names "Volgadorstroy," founded in 2008 and 2013. The company established in 2008 has already been declared bankrupt by a lawsuit from the subcontractor LLC "BSL Engineering" – a participant in the construction of M-12. The court has introduced bankruptcy proceedings against it until March 2026. At the same time, the second company "Volgadorstroy" (founded in 2013) is also on the brink of bankruptcy. By a lawsuit from Tatsotsbank, the court has introduced supervision proceedings against it. The total debt of this company amounts to 1.78 billion rubles, including 600 million rubles in bank claims. As previously reported, the former director of the subcontractor "BSL Engineering" is already a suspect in a criminal case regarding embezzlement, abuse of power, and tax evasion. Minnullin's detention occurred against the backdrop of a chain of bankruptcies of companies associated with the construction of a strategically important transport facility – the high-speed M-12 highway, connecting Moscow with the regions of the Volga. As reported by the local publication "Real Time," at the moment, the detained person's lawyer refuses to comment. One of the reasons for the detention of the road and highway builder for law enforcement was Minnullin's decision to purchase airline tickets within Russia. His departure abroad was prohibited back in October based on a decision by the Arbitration Court of Tatarstan. According to data from open sources, over several years of operation, Ayrat Minnullin's companies earned more than 30 billion rubles on government contracts, but 2024 has already become unprofitable for the main "Volgadorstroy": with a revenue of 25.4 billion, the company went into the red by 3.6 billion. In addition to the road business, the list of assets that the entrepreneur risks losing due to debts includes the "Vostochny" bus station, the "Protochnaya, 8" business center, the "Prague Club," and the two-deck riverboat "Moscow-84," as well as several other items of expensive property.
