Specialists note that this year the migration is taking place actively and covers several districts of the republic. According to relevant services, larks, starlings, and forest pigeons—wood pigeons—have already arrived in the region. These birds are traditionally considered among the first heralds of spring. Their return indicates that weather conditions are becoming favorable for nesting and foraging. Warming has also affected waterfowl. The first flocks of geese have been spotted in the sky over Tatarstan, and herons are being recorded near water bodies. This indicates the gradual freeing of rivers and lakes from ice. The first encounters with migratory birds have already been recorded in the Atninsky, Drozhzhanovsky, Menzelinsky, and Spassky districts. Ornithologists emphasize that further increases in the number of feathered friends are expected in the coming weeks. The mass return of birds plays an important role in the region's ecosystem. The feathered creatures participate in seed dispersal, regulate insect populations, and serve as indicators of environmental conditions.
