      A native of the Zainsk district, Hero of the Soviet Union Grigory Larionov made over 250 combat sorties during the war. Grigory Fedotovich Larionov was born on January 27, 1905, in the village of Gulkino. In 1933, he entered military service. From the first days of the Great Patriotic War, he participated in combat operations. He served as a navigator in the squadron of the 1st Guards Mine-Torpedo Aviation Regiment of the Baltic Fleet. By August 1944, Larionov had completed 193 successful sorties, sinking several enemy ships and destroying a significant amount of equipment. In total, during the war years, Larionov performed over 250 combat sorties. For his merits, Grigory Fedotovich received the Medal of Honor "Golden Star" (No. 5055), two Orders of Lenin, four Orders of the Red Banner, and the Order of the Red Star. After the war, Larionov continued his service and retired in 1955. He spent his last years in Chișinău, where he passed away on March 1, 1968. The memory of Grigory Larionov lives on in the hearts of people. In Old Zainsk, a street is named after him. In his native village of Gulkino, there is a school named after the hero.
