Ilsur Metshin reviewed the renovation projects for the Lokomotiv peninsula.

      As part of the concept "Kazan - a city on water," it is proposed to update the children's sailing school and create infrastructure for a yacht club with activities in model boating sports.

      The Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, held a meeting on the renovation of the territory on the Lokomotiv peninsula as part of the implementation of the "Kazan - a city on water" concept. Proposals from the investor - the Kazan plant for small-tonnage chemicals - were considered. Its owner, Rinat Arslanov, suggested the transformation of two plots on the peninsula - the "Aviator" sailing school and the area at the corner of Alfred Khalikov and Protopop Avvakum streets.

      On the first plot - the territory of the children's sailing school "Aviator" - it is proposed to construct a modern training base building. It will include classrooms for the school, coaches' rooms, changing rooms, drying rooms, a workshop for repairing sports equipment, and a storage shed for sports yachts. The sports school's territory could be divided into a yacht storage area, a recreation area with the possibility of organizing camping during regional competitions, and a sports training area with a universal sports ground. The entrance group for the school's students is proposed to be on the eastern side of the plot along the facade of the historical building "Prilutsky Prayer House," where it was suggested to install an entrance pavilion for security and access control. To ensure a safe and convenient descent to the training water area, it is proposed to create a sports slip with a small fenced area on the northern shoreline. Updating the sports school's infrastructure will improve the training level of young athletes. The second area under consideration - from the Volga to the intersection of two streets. Currently, there is a staircase with obelisks that is hardly used, as the main entrance to the peninsula is now from Protopop Avvakum street. It is proposed to create a "grand entrance" for the yacht club on this plot. The welcoming object of the yacht club will be a pavilion - "Captain's Office," which will house the model boating federation with workshops and the yacht club administration. An area will be allocated for model boaters with equipped viewing spots. For the comfort of those engaged, the location was chosen with the least wave action. The landscaping of the area includes the creation of a sports zone with three beach volleyball courts and a workout area. The project is divided into phases with implementation over several years and involves private investments. Ilsur Metshin approved the presented projects. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Kazan executive committee, Rustem Gafarov, and the deputy head of the executive committee, Ildar Shakirov.

      Recall that the concept "Kazan - a city on water" was developed in 2023 by the City Development Institute at the request of Ilsur Metshin. It provides for the improvement of new coastal public spaces, the creation of new urban infrastructure for private small vessels on the Volga and Kazanka rivers, as well as the development of sailing, motor boating, and model boating sports. The institute has developed unified standard solutions for water infrastructure facilities that will facilitate the life of businesses planning to develop in this area. Future investors will be able to develop the territory within a unified strategy.
