Since the beginning of 2026, more than 1,500 families in the Republic of Tatarstan have paid for their children's education using maternity capital.

      In the Republic of Tatarstan, since January 2026, more than one and a half thousand families have already directed funds from the maternity capital specifically for their children's education. This year, the amount of maternity capital has been indexed and is as follows: for families where the first child was born, it is 728,921.90 rubles; if the right to the certificate was not previously issued, upon the birth of the second child, the family can expect an amount of 963,243.17 rubles. Edward Vafin, the head of the Social Fund of Russia's branch in the Republic of Tatarstan, emphasized: "Throughout the entire duration of the state program to support families with children, education remains one of the most popular areas for using the funds. Tatarstan has accumulated impressive statistics: since the launch of the program, more than 55 thousand families in the region have decided to direct maternity capital funds towards their children's education." Notably, the range of possibilities is not limited to just paying for school or university education. Parents can allocate funds for their child's daycare, payment for supervision and care services, as well as for additional developmental activities—whether it be clubs, sports sections, creative studios, foreign language courses, or even driving school. The key condition remains unchanged: the educational organization to which the funds are directed must have a valid license for conducting the relevant activities. Applications can be submitted online on the "Gosuslugi" portal, through the MFC, or the client service of the Social Fund of Russia. The application is reviewed within five working days, and in some cases, up to twelve. Funds are transferred directly to educational organizations.
