      Gabdrahman Safin turned 104 years old

      Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Gabdrahman Safin celebrated his 104th birthday. On this day, he was visited and congratulated by the secretary of the Laishevsky local branch of "United Russia," head of the district Ildus Zaripov, and member of the "United Russia" faction in the State Council of Tatarstan Danis Zaripov, as well as the secretary of the Arsky local branch, head of the district Almaz Khisamutdinov, and deputy of the Shushmabash rural settlement Ramil Mukhamadiyarov. Gabdrahman Safin was born on March 31, 1922, in the village of Simetbash in the Arsky district. He graduated from the 7th grade of the Novokishit school, after which he worked as a laborer in a collective farm, then as a foreman. In August 1941, Safin was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army, where he served in an airborne unit. During the battles for Stalingrad, his regiment was attacked by enemy artillery – about 30 soldiers survived, they were taken prisoner, and among them was Gabdrahman Safin. He does not like to remember this time, saying that life in captivity was hell. In March 1943, Safin managed to escape from captivity. After that, as part of the 150th regiment of the 50th Guards Division, he participated in the storming of Berlin, for which he was awarded a letter of thanks from I. Stalin and the medal "For the Capture of Berlin." In August 1949, he was arrested. Safin was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment, including for communicating with Musa Jalil while in captivity, who was then considered a traitor. In the fall of 1955, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Gabdrahman Safin was rehabilitated. He returned home and started a family. Together with his wife, they raised five children. His youngest son, Gabdelfat Safin, is a well-known Tatar singer who made a documentary film about his father's fate. Now the front-line soldier lives in the village of Singeli in the Laishevsky district surrounded by his relatives and loved ones. On Gabdrahman Safin's birthday, he was congratulated by Ildus Zaripov and Danis Zaripov, who presented the devoted fan of the hockey team "Ak Bars" with a personalized jersey.

      "Thanks to your support, we confidently moved towards victory," shared Danis Zaripov. He was also visited by his fellow countrymen from the Arsky district – Almaz Khisamutdinov and Ramil Mukhamadiyarov. "You are the pride of Arsk! We wish you and your loved ones good health," congratulated Gabdrahman Safin the secretary of the local branch of "United Russia."
