This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as stated by the newspaper "Izvestia." "Our partners have already informed us of their readiness to extend the visa-free regime for Russians for another year. We are working with them on the modalities for maintaining the order of mutual travel for citizens," the Russian foreign ministry said. The trial visa-free regime was introduced on September 15, 2025, and will be in effect until September 14, 2026. Any Russian citizen, holding only a foreign passport, can travel to China for 30 days. In response, Russia, by the decision of President Vladimir Putin, introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of the People's Republic of China starting December 1, 2025.

      At the same time, experts surveyed by the publication suggest that the Chinese authorities will not agree to an indefinite cancellation of visas but will extend the visa-free regime annually. Currently, China has not introduced an indefinite visa-free regime for any country. However, in November 2025, the temporary cancellation of visas was extended for one year for citizens of more than 40 countries.
