Vucic announced the discovery of explosives near the pipeline with Russian gas.

      Explosives and detonators for blowing up gas infrastructure have been discovered in Serbia. They were found a few hundred meters from the gas pipeline that delivers Russian gas from the "Turkish Stream" to Hungary and Serbia, reported the president of the latter, Aleksandar Vučić. His words were conveyed by the publication Blic. "This morning our army and police found them near the village of Velebit, a few hundred meters from the 'Turkish Stream', 'South Stream', whatever you want, 'Balkan Stream'. As far as I understand, they found two backpacks, two large bags of explosives with detonators," he told reporters. The Serbian president praised his special services for their work. He threatened "ruthless retribution" to anyone who "threatens the vital infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia" and noted that the consequences of an explosion could have been catastrophic. "This could have posed a threat, such is the destructive power of the explosives that were found in the cache. That is, the destructive power of the explosives, where a very, very, very large number of people could have been harmed," Vučić added. The Serbian president informed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán about the find over the phone. In this context, the latter convened an emergency meeting of Hungary's defense council.
