      The Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee of Belarus, Petr Parkhomchik. The negotiations took place in the Kazan Kremlin as part of a working visit by the Belarusian delegation, the press service of the republic's leader reports. On the same day, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation between the Government of Tatarstan and the Brest Regional Executive Committee. Subsequently, Rustam Minnikhanov and Petr Parkhomchik discussed issues of further interaction at the interregional level in the working office of the Head of Tatarstan. The meeting then continued in an expanded format in the negotiation hall of the Kazan Kremlin. Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the previous meeting with Belarusian colleagues took place in Minsk in September 2025 during the "INNOPROM. Belarus" exhibition. He also noted the development of humanitarian ties, including a concert in Kazan dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus. "This day reminds us of important values – unity, harmony, and good neighborliness. We in Tatarstan highly value the opportunity to expand cooperation with your country and its regions within the framework of friendly Russian-Belarusian relations," he said. According to Minnikhanov, the Presidents of the two countries support the development of interregional cooperation. "We are grateful to the President of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko, for his attitude towards Tatarstan, and I ask you to convey my best wishes to him," he added. The Head of the Republic emphasized that Tatarstan and Belarus have a rich experience of mutually beneficial partnership. The parties actively interact in petrochemicals, machine engineering, the agro-industrial complex, and high technologies, as well as participate in specialized exhibitions and forums. Tatarstan, in particular, cooperates with enterprises such as "Belneftekhim," "Minsk Tractor Works," "Gomselmash," and "Minsk Automobile Plant." "In the past 2025, Tatarstan was visited by the Prime Minister of your country, Belarus, Alexander Turchin, and the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev. We interact across a wide range of industries, including petrochemicals, machine engineering, the agro-industrial complex, and high technologies," said Rustam Minnikhanov. He noted that a significant portion of agricultural machinery in the republic is produced at the Minsk Tractor Works and emphasized the potential for further expansion of cooperation.

      Petr Parkhomchik, in turn, presented the economic potential of the Brest region. "When visiting Belarus, everyone tries to visit our Brest region. It is a unique area, beautiful, historical, and heroic. One of the important directions is agriculture. In particular, the export of agricultural products from the Brest region amounts to about 3 billion US dollars," he said. "The region is developing dynamically," said Petr Parkhomchik. "We are growing every year," he added, noting the increase in milk production and average annual yields. According to him, the delegation from the Brest region, which included leaders of key enterprises and organizations, is interested in expanding cooperation. As part of the visit, the guests have already visited a number of industrial sites in Tatarstan.
