The Spaniards fear new military interventions by the USA.
A survey showed the level of concern among Spaniards regarding U.S. foreign policy and their attitude towards NATO.
The majority of residents in Spain believe that new major military interventions by the U.S. are likely in the next 12 months. This data is provided by the newspaper El País, which published the results of the survey. About 2,000 people participated in the study. 81% of respondents believe that the likelihood of such actions by the U.S. is high. Additionally, 64% of those surveyed admit that the U.S. may attempt to establish control over territories, including Greenland. Also, 81% of survey participants believe that U.S. President Donald Trump poses a threat to peace.
More than half of Spaniards (57%) oppose military support for the U.S. and Israel in operations against Iran. About a quarter of respondents (24%) would support Spain's withdrawal from NATO.
The survey was conducted on March 24-25. Against this backdrop, it is worth noting that in February, the U.S. and Israel began military actions against Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a large-scale retaliatory operation, attacking Israel. Strikes were also carried out against U.S. military facilities in several countries in the Middle East.
