The prosecutor's office has achieved the recovery of funds stolen from a pensioner in Bugulma.

      The press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan reported on a case of fraud involving a 74-year-old resident of Bugulma. In November 2024, the elderly woman became a victim of criminals: under the pretext of installing a program for paying for services, she lost 89,000 rubles. As established by the Bugulminsk City Prosecutor's Office during the investigation into the victim's complaint, the fraudster called the pensioner and introduced himself as an employee of the "Tatenergosbyt" service. He offered to install a special program for paying for services via a messenger, and the woman agreed. After installing the program, she followed the link sent to her and transferred the money — it later turned out that the link was fake, and the funds went to the criminals. A criminal case was initiated regarding the theft under the article on fraud. During the investigation, it was revealed that the stolen money was transferred to the account of a so-called dropper — a resident of Novosibirsk. To protect the property rights of the victim, the Bugulminsk City Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit in the Obsky City Court of the Novosibirsk region for the recovery of the amount of unjust enrichment (89,000 rubles) and interest for the use of someone else's monetary funds. The court satisfied the claims of the supervisory authority. Currently, the decision has not entered into legal force. The Prosecutor's Office reminds residents: be vigilant when communicating with strangers over the phone. Do not install applications and do not follow links sent by unknown individuals, even if they present themselves as employees of official organizations.
