      The head of the Nizhnekamsk district of Tatarstan, Radmir Belyaev, reported today that the company SIBUR has paid compensation to the families of those who died and were injured in the explosion and fire at the "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" plant. SIBUR will also implement a long-term assistance program for the children of deceased employees until they reach adulthood. Restoration work is nearing completion in the city.       Recall that the explosion at "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" occurred on March 31. The company stated that the cause was the ignition of a gas mixture during work to eliminate the consequences of equipment depressurization. Twelve people died, and the search operation was completed only on April 7. Radmir Belyaev clarified today that 21 injured individuals remain in hospitals in Nizhnekamsk, Kazan, and Moscow. According to the official, SIBUR has also decided to reward all medical workers who were involved in providing assistance to the victims. PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" is part of SIBUR. The company's website states that the enterprise is one of the largest producers of synthetic rubbers in the world and a key enterprise of the Volga cluster of the holding.
