      In Tatarstan, a referendum has been proposed, the main question of which will be the possibility of switching to another time zone due to a mismatch with biorhythms. The issue of a possible change in the time zone has resurfaced in Tatarstan. State Council deputy Albert Yagudin has initiated a referendum on this matter in the republic, as reported by "Tatar-inform." Previously, as the parliamentarian noted, he had already proposed a similar initiative back in 2024, but it did not gain support. "At that time, we were not supported, but the issue has not been removed. And today I again ask to return to it from the standpoint of common sense, the interests of the residents, and objective data," Yagudin's statement reads. It is noted that Tatarstan is located east of Moscow, so the solar cycle in the republic is different, while neighboring regions have already switched to time zones different from Moscow's. In addition, Yagudin pointed out that a return to seasonal time changes could result in significant energy savings of about 140 million kilowatt-hours per year. It should be noted that in 2024, the decision to switch was not made due to deep economic ties with Moscow; however, the deputy believes that Tatarstan deserves a time that corresponds to the geographical features of the region, the biorhythms of its residents, and their interests. He called for an open referendum to determine people's attitudes toward the possibility of moving the time in the republic by two hours. It was previously reported that Tatarstan is proposing to launch a four-year program aimed at developing horse breeding starting in 2027. The allocation of subsidies and support for equestrian sports is being discussed.
