This year, the large-scale event is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay. The year 2026 has been declared the Year of Tukay in the Tatar world by the World Congress of Tatars. The campaign unites thousands of people who care about the Tatar language. These include schoolchildren, students, scholars, cultural figures, and representatives of other nationalities who study the Tatar language. Participation is voluntary and free. Anyone interested can join, regardless of age, gender, education, and religion.

      The chairman of the World Forum of Tatar Youth, Rainur Khasanov, told at a press conference at the "Tatar-inform" news agency that as part of the campaign, three different texts will traditionally be presented: for Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, for other regions of Russia, and for foreign countries. Before each text, participants write the poem "Tugan tel," followed by excerpts from poetic works. All three texts are taken from the works of Gabdulla Tukay.

      Last year, 68 regions of Russia and 27 foreign countries participated in the dictation. Currently, 65 regions and 25 countries are registered in the system. The application process is ongoing.

      The campaign will take place in two formats — offline and online. Offline venues for participants will be organized in all districts of Tatarstan, regions of Russia, and abroad. Online participants will be able to write the dictation in a special electronic form on the official website of the campaign. The broadcast will be organized on the TV channels "TNV-Tatarstan" and "TNV-Planet," as well as on the event's website.

      The main venue in the capital of the republic opened on April 24 at 10:00 at the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan Federal University. Also, at 13:00, the venue at Kazan State Energy University will welcome participants. The campaign is also taking place in the Verkhneuslonsky district — a venue has been organized at the district House of Culture.
