      In the capital of Tatarstan, as part of the XVII International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum," the third International Young Chefs Tournament named after Yunus Akhmetzyanov will take place. Young chefs aged 16 to 25 are invited to participate. Representatives from 18 countries, including Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Morocco, the UAE, Qatar, Senegal, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, have already confirmed their participation. For the first time, teams from Turkmenistan and Jordan will compete in the tournament. The tournament is organized by the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the KazanForum organizing committee, and the Academy of Youth Diplomacy. The event is held with the support of the Tatarstan government and the Strategic Vision Group "Russia - Islamic World."

      New format: "black box"

      This year, participants will face a challenge in the "black box" format: they will receive a set of products just before the competition begins, without knowing it in advance. This mechanism, according to the organizers, will test not only culinary skills but also quick thinking, the ability to make decisions rapidly, and work under stress.

      For guests: festival and tasting

      Tournament spectators will be able to observe the work of young chefs and taste dishes from the cuisines of Islamic countries in the form of bento boxes. These will be prepared by Kazan restaurants using authentic recipes provided by participants from different states. The festival program will showcase culinary traditions from Tatarstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Tunisia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Lebanon.

      The tournament as a business card of Tatarstan

      Zufar Gayazov, head of the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Tatarstan, noted that the tournament has long outgrown its status as a regional event and has become a full-fledged international platform. According to him, not only competitors come to Kazan but also jury members from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. "The project allows Tatarstan to present its gastronomic traditions alongside the cuisines of other countries," he emphasized, adding that the tournament is viewed as a long-term tool for promoting the republic on the global gastronomic map.

      Culinary arts as a language of diplomacy

      Dilbar Sadykova, chair of the Academy of Youth Diplomacy, called the tournament a unique platform where culinary arts become a tool for international dialogue. She noted that the exchange of experiences and cultural traditions contributes to strengthening intergovernmental ties. "For Tatarstan, this is an opportunity to showcase an open and confident young generation capable of representing the region on the world stage," Sadykova emphasized.

      Festival of Eastern Cultures

      At the end of each day, a festival of Eastern cultures will take place for participants and guests of the tournament. The program includes master classes, lectures, as well as musical and dance performances that introduce the cultural diversity of Islamic countries.
