The result has been recorded by experts from the International Record Registration System INTERRECORD and entered into the Russian Record Registry, reports the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. "The longest cucumber in Russia, grown in a private greenhouse near Kazan, has become an officially recognized gardening record. It confirms that modern records in Russia are being set not only in scientific centers and specialized farms but also in ordinary household plots," noted Rustem Gainullin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. Amateur gardener Emina Vakhitova planted vegetables from the "Eastern Delicacy" variety seeds for home consumption last spring. "I have been growing vegetables in a greenhouse for many years. Everything was usual: watering, care, organic fertilizers. But this cucumber grew differently. At some point, I stopped perceiving it as an ordinary harvest and just watched how far it could go," she said. After control measurements conducted together with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the record length of the cucumber was established at 93 cm. Its weight was over 2,800 grams, and its diameter was 23 cm. These parameters were officially recorded, which allowed the achievement to be entered into the national registry. "This result has entered the history of the Russian Record Registry as a recorded achievement, setting a new benchmark for the national record system and highlighting the potential of private farming as part of a sustainable and self-sufficient culture in Russia," the ministry's press service clarified.
