"Tukay in our hearts": 62 issues, four languages, and one love for poetry

      In Upper Uslon, a competition was held for the 140th anniversary of the great Tatar poet – participants read poems in Tatar, English, and even Tajik languages. A creative marathon "Tukay in Our Hearts" took place in Upper Uslon, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the classic of Tatar poetry. The jury evaluated 62 competition entries in two nominations - "Literary Creativity" and "Stage Art." In the "Artistic Word" nomination, about 100 works were submitted. Opening the celebration of the Tatar language, guests were welcomed by the deputy head of the executive committee for socio-cultural issues Artem Makarov, head of the education department Lilia Morozenkova, and the host - methodologist of the education department Gulgena Davletshina. They reminded the audience of Tukay's great role in the formation of Tatar literature and the preservation of the cultural code of the people, wishing the contestants good luck in understanding the poet's legacy. And then the entire hall sang "Tugan tel" in unison, and dozens of participants poured onto the stage - from kindergarten students to teachers and school duets. Children recited poems, sang, danced, and performed mini-plays. The world through the prism of Tukay's lyrics resonated in different languages: Tatar, Russian, English, and even Tajik. A little over 70 people took to the stage of the district House of Culture - mostly children, but there were also adults. The geography is impressive: 13 schools (including Innopolis) and two kindergartens in the district center - "Solnyshko" and "Raduga." Each participant, overcoming their excitement, gave their all on stage. It is especially gratifying that Russian-speaking children recited Tukay in Tatar - albeit with an accent, albeit stumbling, but sincerely. Among the performances that stood out was the presentation by Lilia Mukhametzyanova, a teacher from the "Solnyshko" kindergarten. She presented her own poem about Tukay in three languages: Tatar, Russian, and English. The audience also applauded the "Duslyk" ensemble from the Shelankov school, the vocal quartet of girls from the Upper Uslon school, and Salavat Khusnutdinov from Makulovo. A touching moment was the appearance of Mavzhda Bozorova, a girl who moved with her family from Tajikistan to Vvedenskaya Sloboda. She came on stage in Tatar attire with her teacher: she recited several lines of Tukay in Tatar and then switched to her native Tajik language. The Upper Uslon gymnasium also prepared strong contestants.

      However, there was a downside. It must be acknowledged that many schools sent participants "for the sake of form." If a preliminary selection had been conducted before the finals, adjusting the repertoire, the level of the district competition would have been much higher. But even with these rough edges, the evening proved the main thing: Tukay lives as long as his lines resonate in different languages and from different hearts.
