An organizing committee has been established in Tatarstan for the Russia-ASEAN summit.

      An organizational committee has been established in Tatarstan to hold the Russia – ASEAN summit in Kazan. The corresponding decree was signed by the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. The committee is tasked with creating an operational headquarters for the preparation and conduct of the summit, as well as organizing working groups for specific areas of preparation and implementation of the event and carrying out other necessary measures. Among the committee's responsibilities are the development and approval of a republican action plan for the summit, ensuring control over the implementation of this plan and the targeted use of funds allocated for its execution, as well as developing proposals for organizing interaction between various government bodies and public organizations in the process of preparing the event and the organization itself. The chairman of the organizational committee is the head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov. As planned, his deputies are the Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Alexey Pesoshin, the head of the Administration of the Head of Tatarstan, Asgat Safarov, and the mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin (the latter by agreement). The secretary of the committee is appointed as the assistant to the Head of Tatarstan, Gazinur Bakirov. The fifth Russia – ASEAN summit will take place from June 17 to 19. The decree on holding the event in Kazan was signed by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

      The summit will be dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of relations between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which is celebrated this year. Heads of states and governments, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies from ASEAN countries, as well as regional associations and organizations, will gather in the capital of Tatarstan.
