May 9 in Kazan 2026: full program of Victory Day celebrations

      Kazan will celebrate the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War on a grand scale. The main festivities will take place at Millennium Square, Kazan Kremlin, and Victory Park. The festive day will begin with memorial ceremonies and a military parade, continue with the "Immortal Regiment" march, and conclude with a grand fireworks display over the Kazanka River.

      Below is a detailed guide to the events, their timings, and logistics for moving around the city on the festive day.

      Morning of May 9: Memorial Ceremonies

      The day will start with solemn events dedicated to the memory of fallen heroes. 08:00 — A ceremony of laying wreaths and garlands of military glory will take place at the Arkhangelsk and Arsk cemeteries. 09:00 — Flower laying will occur at the Eternal Flame, the monument to the workers of the rear, the monuments to the Mothers and widows of fallen soldiers, as well as at the monument to the victorious soldier in Victory Park.

      Event program at Millennium Square

      Millennium Square will be the main venue for the celebration. Access for guests will open at 9:00. Entrance is organized from the direction of the "Kremlevskaya" metro station. Spectators will be able to position themselves under the walls of the Kazan Kremlin. 10:00 — The ceremonial parade of the Kazan garrison troops. The parade will involve military personnel from the Kazan garrison, cadets from military schools, students from military departments, and representatives of other structures. The culmination will be a theatrical performance revealing the contribution of Kazan residents and Tatars to the Great Victory. Representatives of labor valor enterprises of the republic will also participate in the procession.

      Military Equipment Exhibition

      From morning until 18:00, an exhibition of 13 combat vehicles will be held in the parking lot of the Central Stadium (to the right of the stage). Visitors will be presented with both legendary equipment from the Great Patriotic War and modern samples in service with the Russian army. There will also be exhibitions from public patriotic organizations.

      19:00 — Evening gala concert "Singing Kazan"

      The stage at Millennium Square will feature the combined choir of Kazan, the People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Salavat Fatkhutdinov, the group "Volga-Volga," as well as popular performers such as Aidar Galimov, Suzanna, and other stars of Tatarstan's pop scene. The concert program will combine patriotic hits and folk songs.

      How to get there:

      The recommended way is to take the metro to the "Kremlevskaya" station. The exit from the subway leads directly to the event venue. Using personal transport is impractical due to the closure of central streets.

      The "Immortal Regiment" March

      One of the central events of the day will be the nationwide action "Immortal Regiment." This year it will take place in offline format. 13:00 — The formation of the column will begin at the intersection of Karl Marx and Tolstoy streets. 15:00 — The large-scale march will start along the central streets of Kazan.

      Program:

      11:00 — The "Waltz of Victory" action at the square near the Kul Sharif Mosque and the opening of the memorial stand "Wall of Heroes."

      17:00 — The play "Home with Victory" in the courtyard of the Presence Places. Throughout the day — A field kitchen will be operating for all guests.

      How to get there:

      On foot from the "Kremlevskaya" metro station. Entrance is through the main checkpoints (Spasskaya Tower, Taynitskaya Tower) or from the 1st of May Square.

      Victory Park

      11:00 — Review of the drill and songs of the Yunarmiya and cadets.

      12:00−19:00 — Gala concert of the children's festival "Fanfares of Victory." Throughout the day — Interactive zones and master classes.

      How to get there:

      By public transport to the "Victory Park" or "Park House Shopping Center" stops: buses No. 5, 15, 28, 33, 46, 49, 60, trams No. 5, 6, trolleybuses No. 2, 13.

      Baumana Street

      The main pedestrian street of the city will turn into a large-scale historical immersion venue. An immersive event "We Approached This Day as Best We Could" will take place here — a reconstruction of life in Kazan during the rear in 1941-1945.

      Program:

      14:00 — Performance by the children's combined choir on the balconies of the "Nogai" hotel.

      14:00−18:00 — Concert programs near the monument to Fyodor Shalyapin and the "Kazan Cat" monument. Throughout the day — Residents and guests of the Tatarstan capital will enjoy interactive installations and master classes on 1930s-1940s dances "Waltz of Victory" (each lasts 20 minutes).

      How to get there:

      On foot from the "Tukay Square" or "Kremlevskaya" metro stations. The street is fully pedestrianized.

      Where to watch the fireworks on May 9, 2026, in Kazan: the best viewing points and transport after the holiday

      The festive fireworks will start at 22:00. The fireworks will be launched simultaneously from six points over the Kazanka River.

      The best viewing spots:

      Millennium Square and Kremlevskaya Embankment. A panoramic view of the entire water area opens from here.

      Black Lake Park and Freedom Square. A good view of the central part of the fireworks.

      Kaban Lake embankment (near the Kamal Theater). Part of the volleys is visible, with fewer crowds than in the center.

      Millennium Bridge. One of the most spectacular angles.

      Tatneft Arena Stadium and adjacent areas in the Novo-Savinovsky district.

      The shoreline near the Kazan RCC and Lenin Dam.

      How to leave after the fireworks (from 22:00)

      Special bus services have been organized for the organized evacuation of spectators from the main venues. It is not recommended to use personal transport due to road closures and lack of parking in the center.

      From the "Circus" stop (towards Batyrina Street): Routes No. 22, 89.

      From the "Energy University" stop (towards Dekabristov Street): Routes No. 6, 10a, 15, 22, 47, 60, 62, 89.

      From the "Youth Center" stop (towards Kremlevskaya Dam): Routes No. 10, 10a, 22, 30, 47, 74, 89.

      Important:

      After the fireworks, there may be temporary road closures on Sibgat Hakim Street (from Dekabristov Street to Abdulla Bichurin Street) due to large crowds of pedestrians. Follow the instructions of police officers and volunteers.

      Road closures on May 9, 2026

      To ensure the safety of events, the following traffic restrictions have been introduced. Plan detour routes in advance.

      Complete closures (passage is prohibited):

      From 07:00 to 23:00: Yamashova Avenue (from Musina Street to Korolenko Street in both directions).

      From 08:30 to 17:00: streets in the city center (Gogol, Zhukovsky, Musa Jalil, Theater, Tolstoy, Karl Marx, Kremlevskaya, Lobachevsky, Mushtari, Professor Nuzhin, Pushkin, University, Kavi Najmi) on sections from Bolshaya Krasnaya Street to Gorky/Lobachevsky/Profsoyuznaya Streets.

      From 08:00 to 12:00: several streets in the Yudino microdistrict (Ilyich Street, Lieutenant Krasikov Street, Turquoise, Revolutionary).

      From 19:00 to 23:30: Sibgat Hakim Street (from Dekabristov Street to Abdulla Bichurin Street) — possible closure due to crowding.

      Traffic restrictions (detours or partial closures may be possible):

      Until 23:59 on May 10: parking zone No. 227 (between the Central Stadium and the circus).

      Until 11:00 on May 11: parking at the "Central" stadium and passage near Asgat Galimzyanov Square.

      Recommendation:

      On the holiday, use public transport or the metro. For motorists, it is recommended to leave cars at remote intercept parking lots and walk or take a taxi to the center (considering possible entry restrictions to the center).
