       The ceremonial parade of the Kazan garrison troops, dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, will this year for the first time take place in a modified, more static format, which involves the abandonment of the mechanized column in favor of a large stationary exhibition of combat vehicles.

       As reported on Tuesday at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan by the deputy head of the executive committee of Kazan, Azat Abzalov, the equipment will not participate in the march across Millennium Square; however, a full exhibition will be organized for residents and guests of the capital, which will operate throughout the festive day on May 9, making the inspection of the vehicles significantly more accessible and comfortable for all interested. His words were quoted by RBC. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Leila Fazleeva, explained that over the past few years, numerous requests from viewers observing the passage of columns had been received by the organizers, asking for military equipment to be available for detailed and unhurried inspection and familiarization not only during the brief passage but throughout the entire day. That is why, in preparation for the festive events of 2026, a joint decision was made with the command of the Kazan garrison to meet the wishes of Kazan residents and ensure constant access to the exhibits. According to Azat Abzalov, the exhibition will include both legendary historical samples, such as the T-34 tank, which earned fame on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War, and modern combat vehicles currently in service with the Russian army. Earlier, at the end of April, it became known that the parade on Red Square in Moscow would also take place without military equipment, and the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, explained this decision by the current operational situation and the need to take all measures to minimize the terrorist threat.
