The composer and former director of the Jalil Theater, Masgut Imashev, passed away at the age of 96.
Today, the former director of the Jalil Theater, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, composer Masgut Imashev passed away. He was 95 years old. The death of the musician was confirmed by the head of the Perm community in Kazan, Eleonora Abubakirova. According to her, the farewell to Imashev will take place tomorrow at 10:00 at the House of Actors. After the mourning ceremony, he will be buried in his native village of Berezniki (Kaenavyl) in the Bardymsky District of the Perm Krai. One of the songs written by the composer for his 90th anniversary was named after his native village "Kaenavyl."
Biography of Masgut Imashev
Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation. Vocal teacher, composer. Born on July 5, 1930, in the village of Berezniki, Bardymsky District, Perm Krai. In 1964, he graduated from the Kazan State Conservatory named after ZhiGANov, studying in the vocal class of Georgy Ioakhimovich Tartakov and Vladimir Alexandrovich Voronov. Over the years, he was the director of cultural and educational institutions and taught vocal classes:
1964–1970 — Almetyevsk Music College (director, vocal teacher);
1970–1976 — Tchaikovsky Children's Music School, Kazan (director, illustrator);
1976–1981 — Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theater named after Jalil (director);
1981–1997 — Kazan Theater School (director);
Since 1981 — Kazan Theater School (vocal teacher).
He worked at the Kazan Music College, led a folk vocal class, and was the head of the solo and choral folk singing department. Among Imashev's students are prominent cultural figures of the Republic of Tatarstan: Ilnur Nuriyev — Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan; Rezeda Tukhvatullina — Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan; Izvil Salikhov — Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan; Farida Safina — Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan; Khaniya Farhi — People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan; Galina Kazantseva — Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan.
He was the author of music for 50 dramatic performances and about 100 vocal-instrumental compositions based on the poems of Tatar poets.
The last time Imashev appeared was at a jubilee evening dedicated to his 95th anniversary, which took place on October 2 of last year at the Galiaskar Kamal Theater. The legendary figure of art was congratulated not only by the audience of Tatarstan but also by his fellow countrymen from the Bardymsky District. On stage, songs by Imashev were performed by his fellow countrymen — Guzel Urazova, Chulpan Yusupova, as well as Askhad Khismat, Rayaz Fasyikhov, and Sirina Zainutdinova. Even then, the composer's health condition did not allow him to perform on stage.
