The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Union of Pensioners agreed on cooperation before the elections.

      The meeting where the cooperation agreement between the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan and the regional branch of the Union of Pensioners was signed took place today. The signatures on the document were put by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Tatarstan, Andrey Kondratiev, and the head of the regional public organization of veterans and pensioners, Lyubov Mishina. As Andrey Kondratiev noted, in the run-up to the elections for the State Duma of Russia of the ninth convocation, working with various groups of voters and public associations that represent their interests takes on special significance. He emphasized that representatives of the older generation remain one of the most active and disciplined categories of participants in the electoral process. According to Kondratiev, interaction with organizations uniting pensioners, veterans, and older citizens is seen as an important part of preparing for the federal electoral campaign. The agreement provides for the conduct of joint informational and explanatory events, educational meetings, as well as the implementation of projects aimed at increasing the legal literacy and awareness of elderly voters about modern voting procedures and mechanisms. Lyubov Mishina reported that for the organization, it is especially important to involve representatives of the older generation not only as voters but also as part of the electoral system itself. According to her, today there are 54 activists from the Union of Pensioners working in the electoral commissions of Tatarstan. She noted that these are people with extensive life experience, high responsibility, and an active civic position, and their work shows that age does not hinder contributing to society. The Central Election Commission of Tatarstan emphasized that the development of cooperation with public organizations remains an important part of the preparation for the Unified Voting Day in 2026.
