      A 71-year-old patient was admitted with mechanical jaundice. During the examination, doctors identified two tumors of the pancreas — in the area of the head and body of the organ. With such widespread tumor progression, it was no longer possible to preserve part of the pancreas. At the first stage, the patient underwent drainage of the bile ducts to eliminate jaundice and prepare the body for further treatment. A biopsy confirmed the malignant process. The patient then underwent 4 courses of chemotherapy and was referred for surgical treatment. ⏱️ The operation lasted more than 5 hours. During the intervention, the surgeons completely removed: ▪️ the pancreas ▪️ the duodenum ▪️ the spleen ▪️ the gallbladder However, the removal of organs was only part of the operation. After that, the most complex reconstructive phase began. The surgeons needed to restore the passage of food, bile, and the functioning of the digestive tract after such a large-scale intervention. The main feature of the operation was that the entire volume was performed laparoscopically, through small punctures, without a large incision. The work was carried out near major vessels and vital structures, which required utmost precision at every stage of the operation. The postoperative period was stable.
