In Russia, there is a noticeable increase in the amount of cash in citizens' wallets. According to a SuperJob study, the average amount of cash among economically active Russians has increased by 23% and reached 4,300 rubles. The average amount of cash in Kazan residents' wallets is currently 4,500 rubles. At the same time, the share of city residents who have completely abandoned the use of cash is 20% (last year it was 19%). Men in Russia carry an average of 5,100 rubles with them, while women carry 3,100 rubles. Age significantly affects the amount of cash: young people limit themselves to 2,100 rubles, while Russians over 45 keep 4,800 rubles with them. Among high-income groups (with an income of 150,000 rubles per month), the average amount of cash is 5,800 rubles, with 5% of respondents in this category carrying more than 20,000 rubles. Notably, in six million-plus cities—Moscow, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, and Kazan—the average amount of cash reached the same figure of 4,500 rubles. The highest number of cashless individuals is observed in Moscow (29%) and St. Petersburg (26%). The level of education also correlates with the amount of cash: holders of higher education have an average of 4,700 rubles, while citizens with secondary vocational education have 1,900 rubles (with 31% of them not carrying cash at all). Earlier, Russian banks were recommended to strengthen control over cash deposits.
