At that time, the RT State Committee for Bioresources stated that the frequent appearance of wild moose on city streets is related to the expansion of urban areas and the increase in the number of highways crossing animal migration paths. Young individuals are most often found in the city, who, having lost their way, accidentally wander into the urban area. The state corporation "Avtodor" also warned drivers that they might encounter wild animals, including moose, on the M12, M11, M1, M3, and A113 roads. In the spring, moose come out onto the roads to replenish their mineral deficiency. The animals are attracted to the salt used for combating icy conditions.
