"I think this is a very significant support, allowing, among other things, participation in housing programs, helping to form the down payment for purchasing housing," the minister shared his opinion, adding that large families upon the birth of a third child can receive an additional 450,000 rubles for mortgage repayment. In February of this year, the amount of maternity capital was indexed to the level of inflation – 6.8%. The payment for the birth of the first child increased to 737,200 rubles. The maternity capital for the second child grew to 974,100 rubles if the payment for the first child was not made, and to 236,900 rubles if the family received it.

      Founded in 2007, the maternity capital program will operate at least until 2030. Currently, the payment is provided for the birth of the first, second, and also third child (provided that the family has not received maternity capital for the birth of the first two children). Its main purpose is to support families with children, which aligns with the goals of the national project "Family."
