      Today in Leninogorsk, an extended meeting on road safety was held under the chairmanship of the head of the district executive committee, Ilnur Shamaradanov. The meeting was attended by the deputy head for social issues of the district executive committee, Ramis Galeev, the head of the traffic police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Leninogorsk district, Elena Nikitina, the head of the Leninogorsk inter-district department of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources, Igor Demin, the head of the Almetyevsk territorial department of the State Budgetary Institution "Road Safety", Rinat Sharafutdinov, and the head of the city executive committee, Arthur Mukhametshin. The meeting summarized the work for the first four months of the current year and discussed eight issues related to road traffic accidents, measures to prevent traffic accidents during bus transportation, prevention of child road injuries during the summer holidays, prevention of traffic accidents involving animals, and citizens' appeals regarding road safety, including in the GIS "People's Control". The head of the traffic police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Leninogorsk district, Elena Nikitina, presented a report on the activities of the traffic police. According to her data, in the first four months of 2026, 11 road traffic accidents were registered on the roads of the city and district, resulting in 2 fatalities and 14 injuries. The main cause of the accidents was a violation of the rules for the positioning of vehicles on the roadway. An increase in accidents involving children and adolescents was recorded, with 2 such accidents occurring. Elena Nikitina also noted the effectiveness of the republican program "People's Inspector". Since January 2026, 187 applications regarding traffic rule violations by drivers have been received from citizens through the eponymous application on the "State Services of the Republic of Tatarstan" portal.
