      In Nurlat, a republican tournament in belt wrestling was held in memory of the honored mechanizer of Tatarstan, participant of the Great Patriotic War Sabir Khabibullovich Khabibullin. The anniversary, 30th competition changed its location for the first time: the legendary event moved from the native village of the hero Chulpanovo to the capital of the district – the city of Nurlat. The "Tulpar" sports palace opened its doors that day for more than 70 young wrestlers born in 2012-2014. The geography of the tournament is impressive: representatives from seven districts of the Republic of Tatarstan stepped onto the mats. The presence of honored guests added a special atmosphere to the competition, becoming a living symbol of the continuity of generations. At the solemn opening, the president of the International Federation of Belt Wrestling Khabir Khabibullin (son of Sabir Khabibullovich), president of the RT Federation of Belt Wrestling Rasikh Gabdrakhmanov, executive director of the RT Federation Bulat Shakirov, head of the representation in the Nurlat district Ilnur Salakhov, and others were present. The head of the Nurlat district Damir Ishkineev welcomed the young athletes and guests. He emphasized that the people of Nurlat rightfully take pride in their famous compatriot – the absolute hero of the Soviet Sabantuy in the Nurlat, Bavlinsky, Bugulminsky districts, Samara, and Ulyanovsk regions. "Sabir Khabibullovich Khabibullin is the founder of the national belt wrestling school in the village of Chulpanovo. Following his example, as a true man and worker, not one generation of wrestlers from the Nurlat district has grown up, who today defend the honor of their small homeland in various competitions," noted Damir Ishkineev, wishing the tournament participants bright victories. The glorious traditions laid down by the legendary hero are alive today. They are strengthened by such tournaments, where young athletes not only test their strength but also touch upon the great history. The legacy of Sabir Khabibullin continues to live in every movement of the young wrestlers, in honest bouts, and in respect for the opponent. The continuity of generations is clearly visible here – from veteran mentors to the youngest participants, for whom Sabir Khabibullin will forever remain an idol and a role model. In a solemn atmosphere, the award ceremony took place. Damir Ishkineev presented Khabir Khabibullin with a Letter of Gratitude for organizing and conducting the anniversary tournament. The executive director of the RT Federation of Belt Wrestling Bulat Shakirov also noted with letters of gratitude the head of the district Damir Ishkineev, the deputy head of the district executive committee for social issues Alfiya Galautdinova, and the director of the G.S. Khusainov sports school Ilsur Naibullin. The awards were presented for significant contributions to the promotion of belt wrestling in Tatarstan and annual assistance in organizing the memorial tournament. An emotional moment was the speech of Khabir Khabibullin. "As the son of Sabir Khabibullovich, I feel immense pride. His work has been continued for decades by his fellow countrymen. Among them are champions of Russia, masters of sports – this is the best monument to my father. We thank the district leadership for holding the tournament in Nurlat this year. I am glad that its scale is growing. For the younger generation, such competitions are not just sports; they are the education of spirit and living examples of heroes," he noted. Exciting matches took place on two mats simultaneously. Boys and girls showed their will to win, agility, and true character. The organizers are confident that thanks to the living traditions passed down from generation to generation, the memorial tournament in honor of Sabir Khabibullin awaits many more anniversaries and new stars.
