The crews of "KAMAZ-master" won the "Taklamakan" rally in China.
The "KAMAZ-master" team completed its debut performance at the international rally "Takla-Makan-2026" in China. The crews from Naberezhnye Chelny took the top two spots on the podium. The winner of the race was the crew of Bogdan Karimov. Along with him in the team were navigator Dmitry Nikitin and mechanic Ilgiz Akhmetzyanov. The silver medals went to the crew consisting of Almaz Akhmedov, Ivan Malkov, and Anton Shibalov. Rounding out the top three were athletes from another Russian team – URAL MOTORSPORT, led by pilot Yuri Naiman.
The final 13th stage turned out to be one of the toughest on the entire route. Participants had to overcome roads destroyed by floods, deep gorges, boulders, and water-filled ravines in the Tian Shan area. No one thought about an early triumph – the main task was to preserve the vehicles and simply reach the finish line. In the end, the Chelny crews passed the treacherous section without problems, leaving behind a total of nearly 3,500 fast kilometers.
"We accomplished all the tasks we set to the maximum. The harsh climate and sands, the off-road conditions – the equipment and crews endured these challenging racing conditions and made it to the finish. The guys demonstrated an excellent result, confirming the correctness of our decision regarding the composition of the crews. Ahead of the guys and the "KAMAZ-master" team are many international competitions, where it is important to proudly carry the flag of our country, republic, and native KAMAZ," noted the head of the "KAMAZ-master" team, Eduard Nikolaev, after the race. "I congratulate everyone on finishing and thank everyone who was with us, who followed the race, cheered, and worried for us. We won the "Takla-Makan" rally and confirmed that KAMAZ trucks remain the most reliable and fastest in the world."
