The Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan has approved new rules for the use of small vessels on the water bodies of the region. The document comes into effect on September 1, 2026. According to the new rules, navigation of small vessels on navigable water bodies will be allowed from April 25 to November 10, provided the necessary navigation equipment is available. Under the previous decree, navigation ended on November 1. On non-navigable water bodies, navigation opens after the floodwaters recede.

The rules establish speed limits for vessels: no more than 10 km/h in a 50-meter zone from ports, docks, and places of mass recreation, as well as in water areas near bridges and under them. In water areas designated as natural monuments, the speed is limited to 5 kilometers per hour.
Earlier, the Architectural Department of the Kazan Development Institute shared a detailed concept for a modern multifunctional space on the Kazan embankment. The "Kremlin Pier" project will be part of the overall strategy for the development of the city's river infrastructure.
