The Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the building of the Kazan Youth Theater after renovation and restoration work was completed. Today, Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kazan State Theater for Young Spectators on Ostrovsky Street. The restoration and repair work, which began in the spring of 2025, is nearing completion. The Kazan Youth Theater is one of the oldest theaters in the city. The restoration work was carried out in stages. The premises on the first and second floors, the entrance group, stairwells, service rooms, stage, auditorium, and others have been thoroughly renovated. Explanations during the inspection were provided by the Minister of Culture of Tatarstan, Irada Ayupova. The minister reminded that after the October Revolution of 1917, the building of the Youth Theater housed the first Tatar cultural center in Kazan (also known as "Sharyk Club" or "Eastern Club"). The Youth Theater has been located in this building since 1940. Irada Ayupova also noted that the Youth Theater was the first theater in the republic to receive the "Golden Mask" award.
Rustam Minnikhanov positively assessed the work done, the theater's equipment, and also instructed to monitor the completion of repairs at this important facility for the republic.
