Tatar literature will be included in the "Library of Masterpieces of the Peoples of Russia."
In Kazan and Vladikavkaz, work is underway on the first two volumes of the series "Library of Literary Masterpieces of the Peoples of Russia." One of them will be dedicated to Tatar literature and the poet Musa Jalil. This was announced by the director of the Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vadim Polonsky, during a meeting with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Polonsky thanked the head of state for supporting the project. The series is aimed at both humanities specialists and a wide range of readers, including young people. A total of 20 volumes are planned to be prepared and published as part of the project. Six of them will represent the peoples of the Volga region, Ural, and the Urals, seven will cover the North Caucasus, and six will focus on the literatures of Siberia, the North, and the Far East. A separate volume will be dedicated to the northwest of Russia. The volume on Tatar literature and the volume on Ossetian literature (Kosta Khetagurov) are already fully prepared for scientific publication. By the end of the year, academic work on them will be completed, and next year the books are planned to be published and distributed, added Polonsky.
