A house burned down in Nariman: The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds about fire safety rules.
On June third, a fire completely destroyed a residential house in the village of Nariman. Fortunately, no one was injured. In anticipation of the weekend, rescuers urge strict adherence to safety rules to avoid disaster.
On the evening of June third, the communication point of the 112th fire and rescue unit received a report of a house burning in the village of Nariman. When the fire crews arrived at the scene, the entire house was already engulfed in open flames. There was no threat of the fire spreading to neighboring buildings. No one called for help. Neighbors at the scene reported that there was no one inside the house. As a result of the incident, the residential house was completely destroyed. Fortunately, no one was injured, although the owners suffered significant material damage. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the fire inspector. In anticipation of the weekend, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reminds of the need to strictly adhere to fire safety requirements — this will help prevent emergencies and protect life and property. The supervisory department also appeals to residents to be vigilant.
In residential premises, do not leave electrical appliances unattended and avoid overloading the network by plugging multiple powerful devices into one outlet. Regularly check the condition of wiring, outlets, and switches, and immediately repair any damage found. It is prohibited to use homemade or faulty electrical appliances. Matches, lighters, and other sources of fire should be kept out of reach of children. It is also important to ensure that evacuation routes — corridors and stairwells — are not obstructed.
For those with stove heating in private homes and summer cottages, there are separate rules. Chimneys must be cleaned of soot before the heating season begins and regularly during operation. Overheating the stove is not allowed, nor should it be ignited with flammable liquids, and drying clothes and other items on or near the stoves is prohibited. A fireproof mat measuring at least fifty by seventy centimeters must be placed on the floor in front of the stove.
In nature and when resting at a summer cottage, bonfires are only allowed in specially designated areas or on sites separated by a mineralized strip at least half a meter wide. Never leave a bonfire unattended and completely extinguish it before leaving — douse it with water or cover it with earth. Do not throw unextinguished matches and cigarette butts, and avoid using open flames near dry grass, bushes, and trees. When grilling shashlik, use barbecues, placing them at least five meters away from buildings and flammable materials.
When handling gas equipment, regularly check the condition of gas hoses and connections. If you smell gas, immediately turn off the valves, ventilate the room, and call the emergency service. Do not turn on or off electrical appliances, and do not smoke. Do not allow children and those unfamiliar with safety rules to use gas appliances.
If you discover a fire, immediately report it to the fire department by calling 112 (the unified emergency services number) or 101 (fire department). Clearly state the address, the location of the fire, and your last name. If possible, take measures to evacuate people and extinguish the fire with primary means — a fire extinguisher, a dense cloth, or water, but only if it is safe and not related to electrical equipment. Ensure free access to the scene before the firefighters arrive.
Remember: adherence to basic fire safety rules is the key to your safety and well-being. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
