Two thousand schoolchildren from Tatarstan underwent digital literacy training.
The Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic and leading IT giants conducted 38 classes on online safety and future professions for teenagers. In the past academic year, the Ministry of Digital Development of Tatarstan organized a large-scale educational marathon for school students. Together with the largest Russian IT companies, 38 lessons dedicated to digital literacy were held in the republic. The classes were part of the all-Russian projects "Digital Lesson" and "Digital Literacy." They were supported by the national project "Data Economy." The total number of participants reached two thousand people. Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Tatarstan Bulat Gabdrakhmanov shared the results of the educational program. According to him, both the children and their mentors rated the conducted lessons highly. Schoolchildren acquired a whole set of useful skills: they learned to recognize fraudulent schemes, turn artificial intelligence into their assistant, communicate safely in messengers, and much more. The "Digital Lesson" project included 13 open lectures. They were held in school assembly halls. Each such class gathered about one and a half hundred listeners. In total, approximately 1500 teenagers participated in these events. Lecturers were specialists from leading Russian IT companies. They discussed real-life situations with the students and talked about professions that will be in demand in the near future. The list of topics turned out to be quite diverse. "Sberbank" introduced schoolchildren to "AI agents." VK talked about the "Video Platform." "Yandex" chose the topic "It's in the chat: the evolution of neural networks and digital security." "Kaspersky Lab" explained what "Cybersecurity in space" is. "Avito" demonstrated "Data Analysis: how algorithms help find what each person needs." "Rosatom" revealed the secrets of "How to code on qubits." The "Digital Lesson" is an all-Russian project supervised by the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Digital Economy." Its goal is to provide teenagers with relevant digital competencies and introduce them to the world of IT professions. The second project, "Digital Literacy," chose a different format. Classes were held in separate classrooms, where 25-30 students gathered. In such an intimate setting, each teenager could ask a pressing question and discuss personal situations. In Tatarstan, 25 such interactive lessons and practical workshops were conducted. More than 500 children participated in them. The topics of these classes addressed real threats that young people face online. "Yandex" taught how to recognize fake videos and images—deepfakes. "Kontur" talked about the impact of digital habits on a person's life. "Avito" explained the rules for safe housing rentals for trips and gave advice on how to help charitable foundations without falling into the traps of scammers. "Sberbank" conducted lessons on the topics of honest studying, reasonable benefits, and the dangers of dropperism. VK shared the rules for safe communication in messengers. "Kaspersky Lab" offered "harmful advice" on digital hygiene and explained how to protect pets in the online space. "Rostelecom" dedicated a lesson to suspicious calls. "Digital Literacy" is an all-Russian educational campaign for people of all ages. It is organized by the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Digital Economy." As part of the project, a series of educational cartoons has been released, and teaching materials for teachers have been prepared. The main goal is to help the population improve their level of digital technology proficiency and learn safe behavior online.
