More than 2,000 women in Tatarstan underwent IVF under compulsory health insurance in 2025 – the success rate was 34%.

In 2025, more than two thousand women in Tatarstan underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) under compulsory medical insurance (CMI). As a result, 503 children were born. This was reported by Alsu Miftakhova, the director of the Territorial Fund for Compulsory Medical Insurance of Tatarstan, at a meeting of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. She stated that 309 million rubles were allocated for the program from two sources in 2025. According to Miftakhova, the effectiveness of IVF in the region today is 34%. Last year, 503 children were born after IVF, including those conceived during procedures conducted from January to December 2024. In total, by the end of 2025, the income part of the budget execution of the CMI fund amounted to 93.2 billion rubles. The fund's expenses were 92.6 billion rubles. 89.7 billion rubles were allocated for providing free medical care to the residents of the republic. Almost 9 billion rubles were spent on preventive examinations, and 7.3 billion rubles were directed towards the treatment and detection of oncological diseases, including 4 billion rubles for chemotherapy. Last year, the chief freelance reproductive specialist of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan, Firaya Sabirova, stated that in Tatarstan, unlike other regions of Russia, the demand for the IVF program is not decreasing; however, there is a redistribution of patient flows towards a reduction in patients under CMI. According to her, about 1,800 quotas for IVF under CMI are allocated annually in the republic. The waiting period is from 8 to 10 months, meaning that despite the reduction in couples on the waiting list, there are still queues.
