Today in Kazan, participants of the working group of the General Council Commission of "United Russia" discussed the improvement of the medical assistance system and the provision of medications for patients with oncological diseases in Tatarstan. The increase in cancer incidence is largely due to the rise in life expectancy and the growing number of elderly people, said Alexey Sozinov, Chairman of the State Council Committee on Social Policy. "In the republic's healthcare, there is an emphasis on early diagnosis of oncological diseases, and the number of treatment methods is expanding. At the same time, people's expectations regarding the quality and accessibility of specialized care are growing. These issues are in focus, including on the platform of the State Council of Tatarstan," he emphasized. The detection of malignant neoplasms is one of the main indicators of the oncology service. By the end of 2025, the growth of newly diagnosed malignant diseases in Tatarstan was 4.4%, with an overall increase of about 30% over the five-year period, reported Elena Demyanova, the first deputy minister of health of Tatarstan, noting that the progressive increase in the detection of malignant diseases indicates the effectiveness of the preventive measures being implemented. "By the end of 2025, the dynamics of the incidence of malignant neoplasms exceeded the threshold of 500 cases per 100,000 population for the first time. In the republic, the dynamics of incidence is comparable to the all-Russian indicators. The increase in incidence is due to changes in the age structure of the population towards 60+, the effectiveness of preventive programs, and the expansion of modern diagnostic capabilities in healthcare," Demyanova reported. The speaker clarified that the increase in the frequency of detection of malignant neoplasms at stages 1-2 for most oncological screening localizations became possible due to systematic measures within the framework of dispensary observation.
