An international conference dedicated to the legacy of historian M.G. Safargaliev was held in Tatarstan.

      On June 7-8, an international scientific conference titled "Research of M.G. Safargaliyev and its significance for modern science" was held in the Republic of Tatarstan. The organizer was the Sh. Marjani Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event brought together specialists from four countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. The main topic of discussion was the works of Magomed Garifovich Safargaliyev — an outstanding researcher of the Golden Horde and Tatar khanates, author of the fundamental monograph "The Disintegration of the Golden Horde" (1960). The scholar is known for his deep knowledge of Eastern languages, which allowed him to work directly with primary sources. The conference program was divided into two stages:

      On June 7, the event opened at the Iske-Kazan Museum-Reserve (village of Kamaevo). Welcoming speeches were given by the head of the Center for Golden Horde Studies named after M.A. Usmanov I.M. Mirgaleev and the museum director G.G. Kotdusov. Participants discussed historiography, Safargaliyev's work with sources, and his biography. The day concluded with an excursion to the Iske-Kazan settlement with a lecture by Doctor of Historical Sciences I.L. Izmaylov.

      On June 8, the work continued in Kazan, at the Sh. Marjani Institute of History. A key event was the presentation of three new books: a collection of works by Safargaliyev himself, as well as monographs by T.R. Saitgazina and R.F. Nabiyev, dedicated to the life and scientific path of the scholar.

      During the plenary and sectional sessions, experts assessed Safargaliyev's contribution to the study of the Ulus of Jochi and the relevance of his methods for modern historical science.
