The information about the man's death was confirmed in a conversation with a correspondent from "BUSINESS Online" by his lawyer Timur Salmushev, who defended him in court. "The death was due to illness; it is not a crime," Salmushev reported, specifying that he does not have detailed information about the specific diagnosis, as it constitutes a medical secret. At the same time, the defender noted that his client had a disability resulting from an accident many years ago and abused alcoholic beverages. The last time the lawyer was in contact with his client was last year. The interlocutor currently does not have information about the deceased's relatives or who will be in charge of organizing the funeral.

He was accused of organizing the fictitious registration of 45 foreigners in his apartment, which measured 31.9 square meters. The Novo-Savinovsky District Court of Kazan sentenced him to 2 years of conditional imprisonment. Following the death of the convicted individual, the proceedings in the case must be terminated. Additionally, in February, at the request of the prosecutor's office, the court ordered the Kazan resident to return to his previous passport details — Evgeny Petrovich Chekulaev.
