The Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection of the compliance with the legislation on the procedure for considering citizens' appeals.

      The Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection of the compliance with legislation regarding the procedure for considering citizens' appeals. It was established that a citizen's appeal was received by the Kazan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Roslesinforg," which, in violation of the law, was not forwarded for substantive consideration to the authorized government body, and the branch did not provide a response to the appeal within its existing competence. To eliminate the violations of the law, the environmental prosecutor's office submitted a proposal to the branch director to rectify the legal violations. Due to the violation of the procedure for considering the prosecutor's response, the guilty party was held administratively liable under Article 17.7 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with the lawful demands of the prosecutor) with a penalty imposed in the form of a fine. As a result of the measures taken by the prosecutor's office, a response was provided to the citizen regarding their appeal.
