A 71-year-old pensioner from Nizhnekamsk handed over 1.7 million rubles to scammers, believing them to be fake employees of the electric grid. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan. The fraudsters posed as workers from the "Electric Grid Service," "Public Services," "Rosfinmonitoring," and the FSB. They obtained a code from the man via SMS, after which they began to intimidate him with threats of hacking his account on "Public Services" and taking out loans. In an attempt to save his funds, the man transferred all his savings to the criminals. He also sold his car and sent the proceeds to the perpetrators.
