How to check the relevance of property data: instructions from the Federal Tax Service of the Republic of Tatarstan

      You can check information about your real estate and vehicles online, without leaving your home. The taxpayer's personal account operates around the clock and provides citizens access to all necessary services in a "one-stop" format, reports the press service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The service's capabilities go far beyond simple debt checks and tax payments. Through the personal account, you can submit a 3-NDFL declaration, obtain an income certificate, arrange for a refund or offset of overpayment, and clarify property data.

      Important reminder for car sellers

      The tax service urges car owners to be especially careful after selling a car. If the vehicle is not deregistered, and the new owner has not registered it in their name within the required time, the former owner continues to be listed in the database of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD) as a payer of vehicle tax.

      The cessation of vehicle tax collection is only possible after the vehicle is deregistered.

      According to the Rules of State Registration, the previous owner has the right to independently terminate the state registration of the vehicle if the new owner has not contacted the registering authority within 10 days from the date of purchase.

      How to ensure the accuracy of the information?

      To check the relevance of the data:

      Log into the taxpayer's personal account on the website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia or in the mobile application "Taxes for Individuals."

      Go to the "Property" section.

      This section displays information about your vehicles, land plots, and real estate. Please note: properties deregistered more than three years ago are not shown in the personal account.

      What to do if you find an error?

      If you find an object in the list that you no longer own, or conversely, your property is missing from the list, you need to report the error to the tax authority. To do this, simply use the "Report" option directly in your personal account. Tax service employees will independently verify your data against information from the Rosreestr and GIBDD, update the information, and notify you of the results of the check.
