In the summer, up to 12,000 teenagers will be officially employed in Tatarstan

Young people work in summer at enterprises, student brigades, and hospitals.

In 2026, about 16,000 teenagers from Tatarstan will be employed under the "Employment Support for the Population of RT" program, which is supported by the national project "Personnel," including 10-12 thousand young people in the summer. This was reported to Tatar-inform by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of RT. Specialists from the Employment Center of RT actively collaborate with enterprises and organizations to create temporary jobs for minors. Job fairs and employer days are held in the republic.

"Temporary employment for teenagers is one of the priorities in the work of employment centers. It helps to engage young people in work, gain their first professional skills, adapt to the team, and ensure a small income. Special attention is paid to the prevention of neglect and offenses among minors, primarily children from families in socially dangerous situations, as well as those registered with juvenile commissions," the press service of the Ministry of Labor of RT reported.

When selecting vacancies, the health status, age, individual characteristics of teenagers, their wishes regarding working conditions, and the requirements of employers are taken into account. During summer vacations, minors engage in cleaning premises, landscaping, auxiliary work in schools, courier activities, assisting in organizing events, and distributing printed materials. Specifically, they work as auxiliary workers, janitors, engage in landscaping, agricultural work, participate in patriotic events, work on school plots, participate in cleaning the shores of water bodies, forests, and roadside forest belts from garbage, and maintain cleanliness and order at cultural monuments and memorial complex areas.

Teenagers work in the housing and communal services of the Nurlat district, the Naberezhnye Chelny student brigade center, hospitals, LLC "Region-Prontekh," the branch of JSC "Tatenergo" - Zainskaya GRES, and JSC "Essens Production AG." This program also involves PJSC "KAMAZ," the branch of JSC "Tatenergo," MUP "Gorkommunhoz," PJSC "Nizhnekamskneftekhim," and other enterprises and organizations.

When employing, special attention is paid to the children of SVO participants, with whom specialists conduct individual work. Based on the children's wishes, employment center specialists send letters of cooperation to enterprises.

Teenagers aged 14 to 15 can work during vacations for no more than four hours a day.

The staffing center "Work in Russia" RT reported that one can get a job from the age of 16. Parental permission or representation from the guardianship and custody authority is not required for this. One can start working earlier, for example, from 14-15 years, but in this case, it is recommended to perform only light work that does not harm health.

"Light work includes the duties of a cloakroom attendant, promoter, courier, dishwasher, packer, librarian, archivist, florist, photographer. If a minor continues their education, the work assigned to them should not hinder the educational process. At 14, the same is allowed as at 15, but parental consent is required for employment," the press service explained.

For workers under 16, the working hours should not exceed 24 hours a week, and for workers aged 16 to 18, no more than 35 hours a week. During vacations, the daily working hours for teenagers aged 14 to 15 should not exceed four hours, for those aged 15 to 16 - five hours, and for those aged 16 to 18 - seven hours.

If a minor combines study with work, the duration of the working shift should not exceed 2.5 hours for 14-16-year-olds and 4 hours for 16-18-year-olds.

Since September 1 of last year, minors can work during summer vacations on weekends and holidays.

"During summer vacations, employers can attract workers aged 14 to 18 to work on weekends and non-working holidays if the minors are directed by the employment service or work as part of student brigades. The law came into effect on September 1, 2025," the press service of the staffing center "Work in Russia" RT reported.

Material support from the staffing center in the amount of 2,600 rubles.

Temporary jobs are created at Tatarstan enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownership. For example, 176 teenagers worked at the MBU "Youth Center" last summer. They were counselors in the "Camp of My Yard" project, engaged in landscaping and greening. Another 97 teenagers were employed at the "Riviera" hotel as assistants to maids, cooks, and waiters.

"The salary for young people starts from the minimum wage (MW), which is 27,093 rubles in state institutions and 28,160 rubles in individual entrepreneurs and private companies. Additionally, material support from the staffing center is paid in the amount of 2,600 rubles per month," noted the staffing center "Work in Russia" RT.

Current vacancies for teenagers are published on the "Work in Russia" portal. Here, one can find temporary work during vacations and permanent jobs with official employment. By the end of spring, more than 3,000 vacancies for minors were published on the resource.

The largest number of vacancies for schoolchildren relates to the hospitality sector, hotel industry, preschool, and medical institutions. This includes work as auxiliary workers, landscapers, administrators, medical registrars, assistants to educators, maids, cooks, and waiters.

"A legal employer is as interested in the cleanliness of documents as teenagers are."

When getting a job, it is necessary to conclude employment contracts. Specialists from the staffing center "Work in Russia" recommend that teenagers insist on official employment during interviews.

"If at the interview they say: 'Let's work for a week first, and then we'll formalize it,' refuse. A legal employer is as interested in the cleanliness of documents as teenagers are. Remember that refusal to formalize a contract is not just a formality. In informal employment, workers lose rights to paid sick leave, pension experience, vacation, and stability," the press service noted.

Experts from hh.ru also advise never to agree to work without an official employment contract.

"Such a contract guarantees legal payment for work, a fixed schedule, and safe working conditions. Everything offered 'verbally' or for cash, without being recorded in the contract, is a gray area that should be avoided. To find safe part-time work, we recommend using only verified platforms and reading reviews about potential employers," said Albina Sultanova, director of hh.ru Volga.

To attract the employer's attention, it is important for teenagers to show their willingness to learn and take the initiative. In the resume, it is worth emphasizing interest in the chosen field, responsibility, teamwork skills, participation in school or volunteer projects, as well as existing skills. This shows the employer interest and awareness in seeking part-time work, which can influence the final decision.

In the summer, vacancies for guides, animators, and counselors in children's camps open up.

On the hh.ru portal in May, employers published more than a hundred vacancies available for teenagers aged 16 and older in Tatarstan. Jobs in transportation, logistics, and transportation account for 37% of such offers, domestic and service personnel - 35%, administrative staff - 31%, sales and customer service - 16%, and labor personnel - 14. For teenagers aged 14, there were 10 vacancies for couriers, promoters, and contact center operators available in Tatarstan in May.

"In our opinion, during the summer, the top five sectors in demand from employers will be similar. In the summer, vacancies for guides, animators, counselors in children's camps, operators of attractions in amusement parks and rental points, assistants in landscaping, sellers in stores or street stalls, and employees on beaches and in yacht clubs open up," said Albina Sultanova. For teenagers aged 16 and older, vacancies for promoters with pay from 2,000 to 7,000 rubles per shift, order pickers - up to 3,600 rubles per shift, order scanners at home - from 2,600 to 4,600 rubles per shift, couriers - from 4,000 to 10,000 rubles per shift are available.

The share of companies willing to hire teenagers has increased from 4% to 12% over two years.

Modern youth enters the labor market earlier, experts from SuperJob.ru believe. This is due to the fact that legislation in the field of teenage employment is becoming more flexible, and work formats and schedules are more diverse. The demographic factor also influences the increase in the number of resumes from teenagers: the number of 14-17-year-old Russians is increasing.

According to SuperJob surveys, today 12% of companies hire teenagers, and another 6% offer internships to schoolchildren and students under 18. A positive trend is noted: two years ago, only 4% of organizations were ready to employ minors, and one in ten employers offered internships.

"Modern teenagers often find work on their own. According to the survey, in four out of ten cases (38%), the child found the job themselves, in 29% - parents helped, in 17% - friends," the press service noted.

If we analyze vacancies marked "Available for applicants aged 14 and older," the most common positions on SuperJob.ru are sellers and cashiers, customer service
