Having gone through severe trials on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, Sabir Akhtyamovich dedicated himself to military service in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. After retiring, he considered it his duty to meet with young people, including young employees of the internal affairs bodies, almost until his last days. His meetings with the younger generation were real "Lessons of Courage." Those gathered honored the memory of the Hero, shared their memories of this extraordinary person, and each had a few warm words. For many, Sabir Akhtyamovich became the embodiment of courage, dedication to his cause, and military duty. Elza Kantimirova, the daughter of Sabir Akhtyamov, expressed words of sincere appreciation and gratitude to everyone who treats the memory of her dear person with such attention and respectful reverence. The event was accompanied by concert performances. Then the participants of the evening laid flowers at the grave of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Sabir Akhtyamov, buried in the cemetery of the village of Manzaras. The bright memory of Sabir Akhtyamov is passed down from generation to generation and lives for centuries.
For reference. Sabir Akhtyamov was born in the village of Verkhny Iskubash in the Kukmor district. In 1943, he went to war and participated in the liberation of Belarus and Lithuania as part of the Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, establishing himself as a skilled shooter with anti-tank weapons. In the fall of 1944, the brigade in which our compatriot served entered the territory of East Prussia. The Guards had to make considerable efforts to capture Nemersdorf. In this two-day battle, our 18-year-old district resident burned 3 German tanks, 3 self-propelled artillery units, disabled 2 armored personnel carriers, and two trucks with shells. For his bravery, he was nominated for the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, Guards Private Akhtyamov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Also, for his courage and heroism displayed in battles, Sabir Akhtyamov was awarded the Order of Lenin, two Orders of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War 1st class, and medals "For Military Merit," "For the Capture of Königsberg," and "For Victory over Germany." On June 24, 1945, Sabir Akhtyamov, as part of the consolidated regiment of the 3rd Belorussian Front, participated in the Victory Parade on Red Square.
After the war, Hero of the Soviet Union Sabir Akhtyamov remained on active duty. He received an officer's rank, graduated from the school of working youth, and then from the Military Institute of the KGB. He headed a newly created military unit in Arzamas-16 and worked under the guidance of academicians Sakharov, Zeldovich, and Kharitonov. There he also met his future wife. The veteran moved to his native Tatarstan in the early 90s. On the night of July 20, 2014, the Hero passed away. He was 88 years old. The name of Sabir Akhtyamov is immortalized in the Hall of Heroes of the memorial complex on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. One of the streets in Kazan is named after the hero.
