As of today, the share of refusals to clients for credit issuance by banks in Tatarstan has decreased to 74 percent, but remains above the national average in Russia. In the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as across the country, a noticeable easing of the banks' credit policy in the retail segment has been recorded, and the share of refusals for consumer credit applications has decreased by two whole point two percentage points over the year. According to RBC, citing data from the National Credit Bureau, in May 2026, 73.7 percent of applicants in the region received a negative response compared to 75.9 percent a year earlier. According to the presented data, the overall refusal rate in Russia has been decreasing for the fifth consecutive month and reached an annual minimum of 72.3 percent in May. Experts estimate that the strictest banks for consumer credit issuance continue to be in the Novosibirsk, Orenburg, and Kemerovo regions, while the most favorable conditions for borrowers have developed in the Belgorod, Voronezh, and Nizhny Novgorod regions. Specialists calculated that in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the refusal rates were 70.8 and 71.5 percent, respectively. The most significant year-on-year decrease in the refusal rate was observed in the Belgorod region, Zabaykalsky, Stavropol, and Primorsky territories. It was previously reported that since the beginning of the year, the turnover of organizations in Tatarstan, including small business entities, has increased by almost 10%, reaching 4.4 trillion rubles. According to Tatarstanstat data, the main contribution to the turnover structure traditionally came from manufacturing industries, which accounted for exactly 1.4 trillion rubles.
