Students of the KAI College are mastering unmanned systems at the airfield in Kuralovo.

At the airfield in the village of Kuralovo in the Verkhneuslonsky district, a training session for students of the KNIITU-KAI technical college took place. The students are preparing for the championship in professional skills "Professionals" in the competence of "Operation of unmanned systems." The event became not just preparation for competitions, but a full-fledged testing ground for practicing skills in working with industrial drones and automatic service stations – droneports, reports the newspaper "Volzhskaya Nov."

Students, teachers, and representatives from the company "Rusdroneport" from Innopolis participated in the training day. College instructor Arthur Zapbarov mentioned that this year more than 250 students are being trained in the new direction related to unmanned systems. Practical classes at the airfield provided an opportunity to consolidate theory on real equipment thanks to the collaboration between the college and the company.

The company "Rusdroneport" is engaged in the development and serial production of automatic stations for unmanned aerial vehicles. Two modifications were presented at the airfield: a mobile station on a chassis and a stationary one made of three container blocks. Company representative Alexey Vaskov explained that the drone control system is fully automated and does not require the constant presence of a pilot. Drones are ready to perform tasks around the clock and in any climatic conditions.

The range of applications for droneports covers the oil and gas industry, mining, emergency services, environmental protection, and law enforcement. The stations allow for automatic battery charging and replacement, ensuring continuous operation while monitoring industrial facilities. The use of drones reduces risks to human life and saves resources. The main customers are large businesses, gas extraction, and mining industries, as well as forest fire services.

Representatives of "Rusdroneport" and the college noted that joint practice is beneficial for both sides: students gain access to advanced technologies, while the company gets future qualified specialists. During the classes, the students demonstrated their skills in operating UAVs. The Kuralovsky airfield received official status as a pilot site for testing unmanned infrastructure. All permits and approvals for flights have been obtained. Here, new technologies will continue to be practiced, specialists will be trained, and unmanned aviation will be developed in Tatarstan.
