      The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, highlighted Tatarstan among the leading regions in developing cooperation with Belarus. This was stated by the head of state in a video address to the participants of the plenary session of the XIII Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, which concluded its work in Minsk, according to the press service of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. By the order of the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, a parliamentary delegation from the republic participated in the forum's events, which included the chairman of the State Council Committee on State Construction and Local Self-Government, Albert Khabibullin, the head of the Verkhneuslonsky municipal district, Yevgeny Varakin, the trade and economic representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Belarus, Ilkham Kashapov, and other officials. In his speech, Vladimir Putin emphasized that thanks to close interregional cooperation, the trade turnover between Russia and Belarus reached a record 52 billion dollars last year, and in the first quarter of this year, it increased by more than 7%. The President also mentioned Tatarstan among the regions where joint projects with Belarusian partners are successfully implemented. "In the Moscow region, modern mining equipment is produced with the participation of Belarusian partners, in the Novosibirsk region – components for machine engineering, in Tatarstan, the assembly of Minsk tractor equipment is organized," noted Vladimir Putin. The head of state added that Belarusian enterprises "Integral" and "Planar" supply components for electronics production in Tatarstan, as well as in the Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow regions. For many years, Tatarstan has remained one of Belarus's key partners among Russian regions. According to last year's results, the trade turnover of the republic with Belarus amounted to 717.5 million dollars. The interaction of the parties covers industry, petrochemistry, agriculture, transport, and the humanitarian sphere. The "Alabuga" special economic zone hosts the "MTZ-Tatarstan" enterprise, created by the Minsk Tractor Works. Belarusian equipment occupies a significant share of the republic's machine and tractor fleet, and Belarusian-made public transport is widely used in Kazan.

      Participants of the forum also discussed the prospects for further development of interregional cooperation. Following the event, it was noted that the interaction of Russian and Belarusian regions remains one of the key factors in strengthening the allied relations between the two countries.
