The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan listed phrases that fraudsters use to intimidate citizens: “A power of attorney has been issued to a Ukrainian in your name” and “Money has been transferred from your account to terrorists.”
The senior investigator for particularly important cases of the Cybercrime Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, Radis Yusupov, revealed key marker words at a press conference at the news agency "Tatar-inform" that should make any citizen immediately hang up when communicating with a stranger. According to him, during a phone call, fraudsters use specially devised template phrases to create panic and paralyze the will of the victim: “A power of attorney has been issued in the name of a citizen of Ukraine” and “Funds have been transferred from your account to terrorists.” The criminals also use fictional terms such as “Safe account,” “Declaration of funds,” “Mirror loan,” and “Remote search via phone.” Yusupov emphasized that all these terms are invented solely by fraudsters; police officers and other officials never use them, and no real law enforcement officer will conduct a search via video call. Furthermore, criminals will show fake documents for credibility, although they have no right to do so, and law enforcement officials are completely prohibited from communicating with citizens through messengers. It was previously reported that the demand for apartment security products has increased in Kazan. According to experts, residents of Kazan are massively buying leak detectors and protection relays ahead of the vacation season. The demand for home security devices has risen by 12 percent.
