"In the unique acoustics of the old town": "Summer Evenings" have returned to Yelabuga

      After a two-year break, the musical festival of Boris Berezovsky "Summer Evenings" has returned to Yelabuga.

      Let us remind you that last year "Summer Evenings" were canceled for safety reasons, and the festival's fans, who have truly multiplied in the seventh year not only in the Kama agglomeration but throughout the republic, received this news with great regret. The organizers took safety issues very seriously this time as well, placing people with flags of different colors among the audience, who should lead the audience to shelters "in case of anything."

      However, being forced (and let’s hope, only once) to become a biennale, the festival gathered even more guests at its venue. People clearly missed good music. And by the names of the invited artists, "Summer Evenings" traditionally looks impressive.

      And taking the lead, or the piano, among them is, of course, the artistic director of "Summer Evenings," the honored artist of Russia Boris Berezovsky, whose performances are scheduled for each of the four evenings. On the first day, Boris Vadimovich traditionally performed with a speech – at the festival's opening.

      "This morning, two honored artists swam here and were very pleased; my wife even said it was Miami. I suggest everyone who loves to swim meet at the beach in an informal setting," he said with a smile, not forgetting to thank the director of "Summer Evenings," the general director of the Yelabuga State Historical, Architectural, and Art Museum-Reserve Gulzada Rudenko for her "energy, without which the festival would not have happened."

      It should be noted that such a large-scale event would not have been possible without the support of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. He, by the way, advertised the events happening these days in Yelabuga on his social networks.

      "The 'Summer Evenings in Yelabuga' have started – the largest open-air musical event in our republic! The festival is international, part of the 'Summer in Tatarstan' project, and will last until July 12. Admission is free. <...> We invite you to Yelabuga! Come with your families to Shishkin Ponds, relax with pleasure, and listen to beautiful music!" – wrote the President of Tatarstan.

      More than 280 musicians and performers from Russia and abroad

      As for other performers, according to Gulzada Rudenko, the festival features names of both world-renowned artists and new talents, including young prodigies.

      "Performing for the guests are the maestro Boris Berezovsky himself, the chamber orchestra of Igor Lerman, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan conducted by Dmitry Kryukov, the Moscow Jazz Orchestra conducted by the People's Artist of Russia Igor Butman, the honored artist of Tatarstan Albert Jalilov, the State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Tatarstan led by the People's Artist of Tatarstan Milyausha Tamin'darova, the Center for Contemporary Music of Sofia Gubaidulina, Said Mukhametzyanova, Alina Sharipzhanova, and many others. Our guests are also delighted by performances from foreign artists: the Ethnic Ensemble of the National Music Conservatory of Lebanon, the honored artist of the Republic of Belarus Oksana Volkova, a musician from South Korea Kim Gehi, and Mark Drobininsky from France.

      We are happy to see renowned musicians and very young stars on our stage. The seventh festival gathered more than 280 musicians and performers from Russia and abroad on the land of Yelabuga. The concert programs are very bright, diverse, and captivating," she told Tatar-inform.

      According to her, the two-year break has certainly had an impact – in the sense that the VII festival turned out to be, without exaggeration, highly anticipated.

      "The people of Yelabuga, the guests of our city, and all the fans of the festival, which rightfully is the largest musical event in Tatarstan, waited for its return for two years. And today, again, in good tradition, in the historical center of Yelabuga at Shishkin Ponds, amazing music is performed by world-class musicians. Four days of open-air classical works, jazz, national motifs... Such a vibrant kaleidoscope of genres gives guests the most unforgettable experiences. And all this – in the unique acoustics of the old city, which makes the concerts especially expressive," emphasized the festival director.

      She thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his constant support in organizing and conducting the festival, mentioning, as he did, that the event is part of the republican project "Summer in Tatarstan" and that admission to all its concerts is completely free. She also thanked Rudenko and the general partners of "Summer Evenings," "long-time friends of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve" – "Essens Production AG," the SEZ "Alabuga," and PJSC "Sollers" on behalf of their leaders.

      The general director of the museum-reserve reminded that by arriving at the festival in the morning or during the day, guests can immerse themselves in fascinating and educational programs of the museums of Yelabuga: excursions, exhibitions, interactive programs, master classes, and much more.

      "Come to Yelabuga – to a city with a rich history and unique atmosphere! Four days of world-class music, hundreds of talented artists, picturesque nature, and warm summer await you," concluded Gulzada Rudenko.
