Tatarstan expands the network of "smart" sports grounds.
Three new digital complexes will appear in three cities. The Republic continues to develop modern sports infrastructure under the federal program "Business Sprint" of the state program "Sport in Russia." By the end of the current year, comfortable training spaces of a new generation will open their doors for residents of Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, and Bugulma. The large-scale implementation of innovative sports facilities in Tatarstan began in 2022. The pilot points at that time were Almetyevsk and two locations in the region's capital on Musina and Dubravnaya streets. Later, the network was expanded with sites in Nizhnekamsk (in 2023) and Zelenodolsk (in 2025). As part of the current stage of the program, three more facilities are being built, with the Kazan site receiving a special winter version with professional hockey boards. Two standard equipment configuration options are provided for municipalities depending on the needs of the area: a compact universal zone (32×19 meters), which includes a field for team games in volleyball, basketball, and football, a designated workout sector with inclusive equipment (pull-up bars and parallel bars), a set of outdoor exercise machines for chest and leg presses, as well as compact stands designed for 25 seats, and a multifunctional complex (40×20 meters), which features a large area with a durable surface, a workout sector (20×12.1 meters), hockey fencing with a protective net, goals for hockey and football, four basketball stands, and an expanded set of equipment for strength training. The key feature of such facilities is their complete interactivity. All exercise machines are equipped with special QR codes. Visitors only need to point their smartphone camera to access a video lesson with the correct technique for performing elements, study a map of the involved muscle groups, and create an individual training program. For the comfort of citizens, stable wireless Wi-Fi internet is provided. Part of the exercise equipment is fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
