       In the Republic of Tatarstan, they want to replace almost one and a half thousand elevators in four years. This year, 124 facilities have been included in the elevator equipment upgrade program.

       A large-scale program for upgrading the elevator infrastructure in apartment buildings has been launched in the Republic of Tatarstan, scheduled for the period from 2026 to 2029, and authorities have warned of serious risks for residents whose homes are accumulating funds in special accounts, RBC reports. As stated at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan by the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services Damir Shaidullin, during this time, it is planned to replace about one and a half thousand elevators that have reached their normative service life. The Government of Russia has set a strict task to completely renew all such elevators by February 15, 2030. Of the total number of elevators, nine hundred eighty are accounted for by the regional operator, and another four hundred ninety-four are in special accounts, and it is with the latter that the most alarming situation arises. Shaidullin emphasized that special accounts are a risk zone, and last year, out of thirty-six planned elevators, only three were replaced there. If residents do not carry out the replacement on time, they may be left without an elevator and have to walk in 2030. Only this year, the republic will replace one hundred twenty-four elevators in fifty-six houses. Last year, six hundred seventy-eight elevators were upgraded. It was reported the day before that in Tatarstan, since the beginning of the year, 2.3 million square meters of housing have already been built, completing almost three-quarters of the annual plan, which in the republic is set at no less than 3.175 million "squares."
